- Topic was unanimously agreed upon by both members of the Ramadan committee and the Epe NYCN executives – Kaka

The National Youth Council of Nigeria, Epe Local Branch says it has concluded plans to hold the year 2021 Ramadan lecture.
The event, which comes up on Friday 7th May 2021 will hold at the Epe Local Government Council Chambers, Ita-Marun, Epe Lagos State.
The theme of the lecture, ” The Islamic perspective of Drug Abuse, Internet Fraud and. Rape; Implication for Youth Development”, will be delivered by a renowned Islamic Scholar, Dr Marufdeen Adeniyi Shittu, ( Chief Lecturer, Arabic Department, Michael Otedola College of Primary Education, MOCPED.
The event will feature a Film show (Islamic), Quranic recitation/Quiz competition and special prayers for the youths in the Local Government.
Royal fathers of the day are the Royal Majesties of Alara of Ilara Kingdom, Oba Olufolarin Ogunsanwo, the Olu Epe of Epe kingdom, Oba Dr Shefiu Adewale and Oloja of Epe Land, Oba Kamorudeen Ishola Animashaun.
While the spiritual fathers of the day include Fadeelatul Sheikh Alhaji Abiola Aliru Sadallah, the Grand Chief Imam of First Epe Central Mosque, Oke-Balogun and Alhaji Sheikh Abdul-Lateef Oladapo Ayeogbaro, the Grand Chief Imam of Epe Central Mosque, Ita-Opo, the event will be chaired by Hon Abiodun Tobun, Member, Lagos State House of Assembly, Epe Constituency I, while also the Host, Co-host and Chief-host are the Epe Local Government Chairman, Hon Adedoyin Adesanya, Comrade Ladele Ismail Oluwaseun and Hon Wale Raji, Member House of Representatives, Epe Federal Constituency, respectively.
According to the Coordinator of the NYCN Epe local branch, Comrade Ladele Ismail, the Holy month of Ramadan is a glorious month which provides all Muslim faithful with the opportunity to earn multiple rewards and blessings based on their devotion and steadfastness all through the month. He revealed that it is against this backdrop that the leadership of the Youth council found it necessary to organize the event for the benefits of the youths and the community at large.
Stressing that Epe is noted for deep-rooted knowledge in the Islamic religion as evident in the tag ” Epe oni Kurani “, he further stated that for seamless and effective organization, the Youth Council, in a unanimous decision, appointed members into the Ramadan Committee headed by Mr Babatunde Kaka, Comrade Kadri Abiola as Secretary while others include Yusuf Kassim, Mrs Ruqoyyah Yusuf and Miss Olundegun Zainab.
Ekohotblog gathered that the Ramadan Committee Chairman, Mr Babatunde Kaka, expressed excitement at the opportunity given to serve and was grateful to the youth executives for his choice. He revealed that organising the event has been a daunting task but promised the youths of the community to expect an educative and fascinating experience based on the calibre of dignitaries invited and the outline of activities.

With regards to the selected lecture theme, Mr Kaka disclosed to Ekohotblog that the topic was unanimously agreed upon by both members of the Ramadan committee and the Epe NYCN executives. He noted that the alarming rate of drug use, internet fraud and rape/sexual assault amongst young people in the community and the larger society informed the choice of the theme.
He further stated that the lecture will be beneficial to the youths as it will serve as a reminder to all youths on the position of Islam and penalty on these antisocial issues as they are gradually becoming societal norms in the face of State laws provided to curb them.
He, therefore, urged youths to make use of the window of opportunity to unlearn, relearn and learn by attending the event. He advised that participants will have the grace to spread the message across to their peers for the sole purpose of drastically reducing the menace in the community.
