- Facebook owner, Mark Zuckerberg, has unveiled free products for content creators to attract more social media users.
The Chief Executive Officer of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, has unveiled free products for content creators on all Facebook-owned services including WhatsApp and Instagram, EKO HOT BLOG has gathered.
The latest development is coming amidst the ban of Twitter operations in Nigeria by the Federal Government.
However, Zuckerberg, in a Facebook post on Monday, stated that the free products will enable creators to make more money, adding that the offer will be available till 2023.
Zuckerberg wrote, “To help more creators make a living on our platforms, we’re going to keep paid online events, fan subscriptions, badges, and our upcoming independent news products free for creators until 2023. And when we do introduce a revenue share, it will be less than the 30% that Apple and others take.”
The Federal Government had last week suspended Twitter operations in Nigeria, citing the “persistent use of the platform for activities that are capable of undermining Nigeria’s corporate existence”.
The FG’s action followed the deletion of a controversial civil war post by President Muhammadu Buhari.
