The leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Epe Branch, has pitched the cardinal demands of Epe Youths in the prospective 2022 Lagos State budget to the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration.
The call was made at the Lagos State Government Year 2022 Citizen’s Budget Consultative Forum organized by the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, on Wednesday 4th August 2021, at the Radio Lagos Hall, LTV, Agidingbi, Ikeja.
Comrade Shittu Mustapha Adeniyi, on behalf of the forum, tendered the submission of Epe youths as contained in a unanimously adopted memorandum.
The focal points of the memo include the resuscitation of the Epe Plywood Factory, provision of Independent/ Uninterrupted Power Supply (IPP) For the Epe General Hospital, construction of the Oke-Balogun Eid Street Road, Epe, a review of the uncompleted Epe Marina Waterfront to meet international standards, the completion of the abandoned Epe High Court Road, Oke Oyinbo, Epe, and recruitment of health professionals from Epe to the existing health facilities in Epe.
Others include the provision of a utility vehicle, sanitation tools and monthly logistics for the constituted Epe Youth Sanitation Corps of NYCN EPE branch, to facilitate monthly sanitation and engage the youth productively for community services; the establishment of fish storage facility to time target, as identified in 2021 Budget for Epe, the provision of Water Transport services to run from Oluwo Market in Epe to Ajah, the revival of the two Epe recreation centres to standard Stadium status to promote sporting activities.
Provision of a health centre at Odo-Temu community to bring primary healthcare services to over 10,000 residents of the community and its suburbs and the provision/facilitation of a designated Market at Odo-Temu community to promote the economic activities of the town taken advantage of the existing road network to boost IGR, also made the list of demands from the Youth body.

Earlier, the Lagos State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Mr Sam Egube, disclosed that the programme was part of preparations for the year 2022 budget. He stated that the target of the State Government is to get the inputs from all stakeholders in the 5 Divisions of the State to ensure inclusiveness, transparency and accelerated development in all parts of the state.
Eko Hot Blog also gathered that the consultative Forum drew concerned traditional and community leaders, religious leaders, career professionals, youth organisations, and other relevant stakeholders from Epe. The session sustained in-depth discussions and contributions on how the Lagos State Government will facilitate significant development across the length and breadth of Epe Division.
