Wizkid’s Made in Lagos album has been tipped to bag a grammy award nomination.
Nigerian born Afrobeats hitmaker, Ayodeji Balogun famously known as Wizkid has been tipped to bag a grammy award nomination for his widely celebrated Made in Lagos album.
The fourth studio album titled Made In Lagos which was released in October 30, 2020 has set new standards for the afrobeats genre by topping charts and setting new records a year after its release. Remarkably becoming the only African song to have spent forty-six weeks on the Billboards World Albums Chart.
Billboard who recently published their best bet on artistes with a potential grammy award nomination tipped; Doja Cat – ‘Planet Her‘, Drake – ‘Certified Lover Boy‘, Billie Eillish – ‘Happier Than Ever‘, Ariana Grande ‘Positions’, H.E.R – ‘Back of My Mind’, Lil Nas X – ‘Montero’, Olivia Rodrigo – ‘Sour’, and Taylor Switch – ‘Evermore‘.
They proceeded to mentioning Wizkid’s Made in Lagos as an alternative to their best bet list while suggesting that the 14- track album will bag a significant category nomination that will be away from the norm for African music.
