Ekohotblog reports that Newcastle manager, Steve Bruce has been sacked 13 days after the £305 million take over by a Saudi-led consortium.
Although Steve Bruce imminent departure has been murmured since the club takeover, but a 3 – 2 lose against Tottenham Hotspur was a final nail on the coffin for the manager.
Steve Bruce leaves the club in 19th position of the Premier League and without a win after their opening eight games of the 2021/22 campaign.
Former AFC Bournemouth coach, Graeme Jones will lead the team on an interim basis, starting with Saturday’s trip to Crystal Palace.
Newcastle said they have begun the process of recruiting a new head coach, with former Roma boss Paulo Fonseca has emerged as a contender, according to Sky Sports.
In his farewell speech, Steve Bruce said:
“I am grateful to everyone connected with Newcastle United for the opportunity to manage this unique football club,”
“I would like to thank my coaching team, the players and the support staff in particular for all their hard work.
“There have been highs and lows, but they have given everything even in difficult moments and should be proud of their efforts.
“This is a club with incredible support and I hope the new owners can take it forward to where we all want it to be. I wish everyone the very best of luck for the rest of this season and beyond.”, he added.
