LASU VC Leads Delegation On Assessment Tour Of Epe Campus, Promises Intervention On Critical Facilities.

On Friday, November 5th, 2021, newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University, LASU, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello led members of the University Management on an assessment tour of facilities at the Lagos State University, LASU, Epe Campus, which accommodates the Faculty of Engineering and School of Agriculture.

The Vice-Chancellor, who assumed office on September, 22, 2021 arrived at Epe campus with her team at about noon and was cordially received by the Head of Campus, Professor Rafiu Okunneye, who thereafter took the delegation round facilities on the campus.

Prof. Ibiyemi’s entourage included the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academics, Prof. Wahab Elias; Acting Registrar, Mr Emmanuel Fanu; Bursar, Mr Said Olayinka; University Librarian, Dr Emmanuel Layi Adebayo alongside other senior members of staff of the University.

As gathered by Eko Hot Blog, palpable elation and excitement could be seen washing over the students and staff of the citadel of learning who were thrilled at the visit of the Vice Chancellor who promised to revitalise critical infrastructure in the campus that requires attention.

The VC and her team were led to the Faculty of Engineering by the Acting Dean, Professor Raji, where the condition of workshops and laboratories were evaluated. The team thereafter visited other facilities such as the administrative offices, part-time programme offices and classrooms, Pre-Degree Studies Complex, Students hostels, Staff Quarters, Campus Health Centre, amongst others.

Prof Ibiyemi and her team also visited the School of Agriculture, where they were received by the Dean – Professor O.T.F Abanikanda. Laboratories, classrooms, farms, and the Institute of Organic Agriculture were some facilities visited at the School of Agriculture before the official tour came to a halt at the Faculty of Engineering Lecture Theatre in the evening.
