FRSC seeks stronger synergy with Nigerian Army to check traffic during the Yuletide season
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has sought stronger synergy with the Nigerian Army (NA), to check traffic in all formations, especially during the nationwide end of the year patrol.
The FRSC Corps Marshal, Dr Boboye Oyeyemi, made the call when he led his team on a courtesy visit to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Maj.-Gen. Faruk Yahaya, on Thursday in Abuja, News Agency of Nigeria reports.

Oyeyemi commended the Nigerian Army for prompt responses, especially in the training of 600 personnel, undergoing training presently in Kontagora, Niger.
According to him, we are here to say thank you for NA’s support, so far, it is enormous. The army has assisted the FRSC especially on the approval of training of its personnel (drivers).
He expressed appreciation to the COAS and his teams for sustained synergy with the FRSC over the years and commended their support for ensuring security in the country.
The FRSC boss also appealed for more collaborations as a platform to effectively police motorists to enhance safety and security in the country.
He reiterated the corps mandate and the effort to combat ills on the highways through routine checks and patrols.
“We have over 1,000 formations across the country. We are here to renew the ties and to also plead for assistance during the end of the year patrol to help check traffic and relax any situations the corps might face.
“We also appreciate the NA for the compliance of government policies including vehicle number plates and driver’s license.
“We seek maximum support again for our end of the year patrol operations and hope to have a hitch-free yuletide celebration, ” he said.
Oyeyemi promised maximum support for the NA, saying that the FRSC was ready to help in any way the security agency might need assistance especially in the area of technology to combat crimes.
Yahaya appreciated the FRSC for its laudable achievements and pledged more support to ensure safety nationwide for the Corp.
The COAS said that FRSC had overtime assisted the Nigerian Army in their own specialities to ensure safety all over the country.
He assured Oyeyemi of his readiness to partner with the FRSC and sustain the existing collaboration and synergy.
“We are always willing to support other agencies, especially in the area of security. Evident is the involvement of our officers in the ongoing training of the FRSC personnel.
” Doors are always opened to assisting the Corps for better performance, ” he added.
