Gunmen Kill Seven In Fresh Plateau Attack

EKO HOT BLOG reports that gunmen have invaded Pinau Market in Pinau community of Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State, killing seven and injuring many villagers.

The armed men reportedly struck while the market was bubbling with activities on Sunday evening.

Last week, residents of the some villages had raised an alarm over the influx of bandits in some of the villages of Wase LGA.

The residents had also alleged that there were informants within communities working with the bandits.

Shapi’i Sambo, who is the Wase youth leader, confirmed the latest attack, describing the incident as unfortunate.

The youth leader narrated that the gunmen stormed the market and started shooting sporadically.

Another source said that in the last 10 days, gunmen had abducted many people in the area and collected millions of naira as ransom.

He said, “The collect ransom in millions. Sometime they collect ₦2 million and sometime ₦5millions. Last three days, they collected ₦5million before releasing a man whom they abducted some days back.”

Spokesman of the state police command, ASP Ubah Gabriel, is yet to react to the incident.
