Giroud broke Thierry Henry’s 13-year record as France defeated Poland 3-1 to book their quarter-final place on Sunday.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that France striker, Olivier Giroud has made history with his strike against Poland in the World Cup last 16 as France advanced to the quarter-finals.

Kylian Mbappe scored twice, and Olivier Giroud became France’s all-time highest goalscorer as Poland were knocked out of the World Cup from the last 16.

Giroud’s opener before half-time swung the game in France’s favour after they had struggled to make their mark against a limited but tough Polish side.
